Create Space for Life: Bathroom

Todd and I had so much fun designing this bathroom and doing the work together. I love and appreciate how Todd shares the project with a Facebook video.

We live in a 70-year-old small home and so every renovation project presents some surprises and some challenges… we are always trying to make the most out of our tiny space, and we live in every square inch of it!

Goals: Create a masculine, modern bathroom with clean lines. We wanted a bathroom that was easy to keep clean, a shower where we could leisurely sit and shave our legs (yes, Todd has clean-shaven legs as well). We wanted to be able to get ready at the same time - no room for a two-sink vanity, but I like what we did.

Challenges: Lath/plaster, old…OLD plumbing, converting the tub to shower, we’d never used porcelain tile, glass tile, schleuter, niches, or tiled a ceiling. I think my dad would be very impressed/proud of the way the niches are framed in.

We LOVE the way it turned out, and do not feel guilty about the long, indulgent, steamy time we spend in the shower!
